Before You Apply
Applicants should review the information under “Who Should Apply – Academic Requirements” to ensure they meet the minimum academic requirements. All applicants should also review the “Essential Skills and Abilities Required for Entry to a Medical Degree Program” document found under “Who Should Apply”.
Applicants should schedule their MCAT to be written no later than September 10, 2022. (Tests must be done prior to, and within five years of the year of application. Any test written in 2017 or later is valid for the application cycle ending October 3, 2022). The final date to release MCAT scores to OMSAS for the 2022-2023 application cycle is October 19, 2022. Applicants should obtain a copy of their Undergraduate transcript(s) which will be needed to complete the on-line application.
The Application Process
Application to the medical school is completed on-line at the Ontario Medical School Application Service (OMSAS) Website. The intention of the Michael G. DeGroote School of Medicine is to prepare students to become physicians who have the capacity and flexibility to select any area in the broad field of medicine. The applicant is selected with this goal in mind. Faculty, medical students and members of the community are normally involved in the review of applications.
The application for entry in 2023 will open on July 7, 2022 through the Ontario Medical School Application Service - OMSAS at www.ouac.on.ca/omsas. Completed applications are due October 3rd, 2022 at 4:30 EDT.
